The unique music of Kabul Express is released, composed by prodigy Raghav Sachar
The unique music of Yash Raj Films’ latest production ‘Kabul Express’ was released on Friday, 17 November 2006. The film is directed by Kabir Khan and produced by Aditya Chopra. And it offers the listener some of the most melodious tunes in recent times, composed by debutant music director, the multi-instrumentalist and singer Raghav Sachar. The peppy lyrics are also by a debutant, Aditya Dhar, with lyrics for the track ‘Banjar’ featuring additional contributions from Swaratmika Mishra and Vijay Kumar.
The album opens with the title track, called ‘Kabul Fiza’, a youthful, contemporary tune that perfectly conveys the international feel of the movie, and slips effortlessly between western and Indian instruments. It is sung by the composer himself.
‘Banjar’ features the inimitable voice of Shubha Mudgal in a song that perfectly captures the flavour of Afghanistan where the movie is based and where it has been shot extensively on location. Add the tremendous percussion work on the song by the talented Sivamani and you have a track that is certain to rule the airwaves for some time to come.
