Sahara are internationally recognised as one of the finest exports from UK Bhangra scene, with their back catalogue seeing them regularly tour countries such as India, Pakistan, Malaysia, USA and Kenya
to name just a few. Sahara who formed in 1993, went on to release three albums during that decade: Intemptation (1993), Let Loose (1994) and Blue Print (1997).

However, it was in 2001 when Sahara first came to the attention of the world, when they released their album ‘Access All Areas’. The album featured the huge hit ‘Soniye Ni Soniye’, which catapulted Sahara to worldwide fame. The garage fused single broke new barriers for Bhangra music and the production by MANJ MUSIK (Formally known as RDB) took the music of Sahara into a whole new stratosphere!

After 4 years of non-stop shows and touring, Sahara hit the studio once again, for their highly awaited follow up album ‘Undisputed’. The album was a sure fire undisputed hit and delivered the worldwide known anthem ‘Lal Ghagra’. The single went above & beyond the success of ‘Soniye Ni Soniye’ and pushed new boundaries for the band, making a huge impact on the UK & International Asian music scene!

Sahara, headed by Herbie (Lead vocals) and backed up by Gurps & Kully, created history in 2013 by becoming the only UK band ever to perform 28 gigs in Pakistan over a period of just 23 days! The tour took place for Punjab College group of Colleges, who are the largest educational network in Pakistan. The band have spent the last decade touring across the world, performing in front of thousands of fans and esteemed dignitaries.

A decade later and ‘Lal Ghagra’ is still as popular as ever across the world! Akshay Kumar being one of Manj’s close friends told Manj that ‘Lal Gaghra’ is one of his favourite songs of all time and he loves performing the song to crowds across the globe! Most recently performing and singing the song himself in his own voice at his USA Fusion Tour with Sonakshi Sinha, Madhuri Dixit, Chitrangda Singh, Prabhudeva and MANJ MUSIK

This week will see Sahara return with their brand new single ‘Billo Hai’. Continuing on the success from ‘Lal Ghagra’, ‘Billo Hai’ has once again been produced by MANJ MUSIK, who delivers a bass thumping contemporary sound for the band. Bringing on board one of the biggest and most popular South Asian rappers in Raftaar, ‘Billo Hai’ is set to open new boundaries for the band.

‘Billo Hai’ is the first of a number of brand new songs Sahara have penciled in to release over coming months!
