‘Yodha’ – Review
With action thrillers dominating Bollywood like Shaitaan and Fighter, the trend seems to be going with Sidharth Malhotra’s next, Yodha. This will be another team up between Malhotra and Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions after Shehshaah.
Malhotra is no stranger to playing a national defender and revisits a familiar territory. He depicts the role of Arun Katyal, an off-duty soldier aboard who devises a strategy to defeat a group of terrorists and ensure the passengers’ survival when the engine of a hijacked plane fails.
Sidharth packs a punch and holds the action sequences with a confidence that hooks you into the story. He’s proven with projects like Aiyaary and Indian Police Force, that he is the perfect depiction of the ‘action hero’ who fights for his country and does whatever he takes to defend it. However what’s interesting is that it’s not just Sidharth who holds a sense of power – the leading ladies of the film hold their fort quite well and maintain their strong and authoritative roles respectively.
Yodha is once-in-a-lifetime action thriller that has a uniqueness with it being set 15,000 feet in the air.
