‘Yaara Vey’s Aleeze Nasser

1.     Tell us how this film came about? What made you say yes to this film? 

Ans: I had a worked with Manish Pawar our director in Dubai on a Zee Network project and when this project Yaara vey came about I was approached and when I learnt that it was written by Althea Kaushal and Mahwash Ejaz plus the production house Beeline was from UAE Dubai there was a huge comfort level, hence it was easy to decide.

2.     Your director believes that script is the basic foundation of the film, what do you have to say about this? What makes a film for you?

Ans: Definitely without a doubt script is key, however if not executed well it can still fall short in making its full impact. It is important that the director brings in his vision and execute it well.

3.     Is this your first film with your co-actors if yes, how was your experience working with them?

Ans: Yes they are all new to me. They are all experienced and accomplished actors, I enjoyed the journey with each one of them and learnt a lot too. Faizan and Sami are very different individuals, yet coming from the same industry they have a lot of similarities and commonalities which now I understand more after spending time with them.

4.     What were the challenges you faced shooting for the film? What were some of the highlights?

Ans: Anything worth doing has its challenges and so did Yaara Vey. Shooting in minus degrees in Georgia, coming across some people with weird personalities and working with them was a package to cope with.

All the highlights were full of fun though, our co actor Ali Sikander has a style of his own and you will see in the movie he is so spontaneously comic that it’s hard to hold laughter. Asad Raza Khan another co actor in the movie has a great way of bringing his witty comments in the forefront, all these things put together were a lot of fun.

5.     With so many options out there for audiences, why should anyone go and watch this film?

 Ans: I agree we are spoilt of choice…however Yaar Vey is a sweet movie that has elements that make it a wholesome experience because of its music, visuals and of course the story.

6.     If you get opportunity to work in Punjabi films in India, would you say yes? Do you speak Punjabi? 

Ans: I speak almost 4 languages and understand 6…besides Punjabi is a very intimate and a friendly language. To me it’s like Spanish, loud and super expressive. I already got approached by some producers for a project in Uk/ India and I will definitely look into it.

7.     If you had to describe yourself, how would you describe yourself for our audiences to get to know you?

Ans: I am always interacting and communicating with people on social media i am super open and candid and courteous in most cases…. but of course I do keep a guard on my very personal life. 

8.     What’s next after this film for you?

Ans: I am waiting for the universe to surprise me as always.
