Batwara 1947 continues to cement its place as one of the most anticipated films of the year. Following the overwhelming response to its evocative motion poster, striking character posters and hard-hitting teaser, the makers unveiled the film’s powerful official trailer at the iconic Raj Mandir Cinema in Jaipur. The grand launch, attended by producer Aamir Khan, director Rajkumar Santoshi and cast members Sunny Deol, Shabana Azmi and Karan Deol and marked another milestone in the film’s journey, as audiences were offered a deeper glimpse into an extraordinary story of courage, sacrifice and humanity set against the backdrop of one of history’s most defining moments.

The gripping trailer begins with the joy of India’s Independence, only for hope to give way to the devastating reality of Partition as families are uprooted and communities are torn apart. As violence engulfs the nation, the trailer follows a family forced to rebuild their lives amid unimaginable loss, while a courageous man stands against fear and hatred to protect those around him. Packed with emotionally charged performances, powerful dialogues and breathtaking visuals, the trailer offers a stirring glimpse into a story of resilience, compassion and the enduring power of humanity, proving that even in the darkest of times, courage can prevail.

Batwara 1947 stars a stellar ensemble cast featuring Shabana Azmi, Sunny Deol, Preity G Zinta, Karan Deol, Ali Fazal and Abhimanyu Singh and marks the much-awaited reunion of Rajkumar Santoshi and Sunny Deol after nearly three decades. Produced under the banner of Aamir Khan Productions, Batwara 1947 is directed by National Award-winning filmmaker Rajkumar Santoshi. The music is composed by A. R. Rahman, while the lyrics are penned by Javed Akhtar. The film is produced by Aamir Khan and Aparna Purohit and is slated for a worldwide theatrical release on, Partition Day, August 14, 2026.
