“THE FAMILY” RETURNS AS CHANNEL 4 INTRODUCES THE GREWALS

This year there are nine family members – one of whom is born during the series – and three generations all living under one roof.
2009 is a momentous year for the Grewal family and highlights of the series will include the birth of a new baby and a big, Indian wedding. Directed by David Clews, this year’s series will be the first documentary of its kind to show British Asian life in such detail.
The Grewals were filmed over a period of 8 weeks with 28 cameras following them around the clock.  The series of 8 x one hour films will be broadcast from 4th November, 2009.

Simon Dickson, Deputy Head of Documentaries at Channel 4, said: “Following the success of last year’s series, we are lucky to have found another brilliant family through whose eyes we can experience the highs and lows of family life.

The Grewals are close knit and wonderfully warm – I know viewers are going to take them to their hearts over the coming weeks.”

David Clews said:  "Making “The Family” has been an incredible experience.  I think the films capture both the big issues and the intimate moments of family life and I hope everyone will enjoy spending time with the Grewals in the same way I have."
