Arabia Blues

Compiled by EMI Arabia, this single CD collection brings together 15 of the Arabic world’s all-time saddest songs, by some of today’s biggest artists including Nancy Ajram, Shereen, Yuri Mrakadi Tamer Hosni, Yara & many more. Most of these songs were and some are still huge hits, that topped the charts and are still requested all the time even years later.

• Lebanese superstar and face of Coca-Cola (in the Middle East), Nancy Ajram has built a great reputation for her high quality pop songs, that often stay in Arabic charts for months. From Nancy we have included her massive hit Enta Eh.
• Yuri Mrakadi is another huge Lebanese star who is included her, from him we have Matha Akoul li Ouzouni.

• El Wahdah Bete’telni is included from Egyptian singer Tamer Hosni, who is serving a jail sentence until September for trying to avoid military service.
• The Arabian answer to U2 (apparently?) are said to be the band Kulna Sawa from
Syria. Their 2001 song Kel Ma Beshta’lek is one of many that calls for peace and unity across the Middle East.

Arabian music has made vast leaps forward in quality over the past decade or so, with high quality productions and arrangements appealing more and more to the Western ear, so this album should see it crossing borders and appealing to everyone
