Shruti Haasan walks the Red Carpet at Cannes Film Festival at ‘Project Silence’ World Premiere

Pan Indian actress, Shruti Haasan, walked the Red Carpet at Cannes Film Festival at the World Premiere of Project Silence. She wore Vaishali S Couture.

The actress will also be attending an event hosted by film initiative for women and underrepresented genders in cinema, Breaking Through The Lens, entitled “Activating Change” as Guest of Honour. The evening  will feature a round table discussion with the Breaking Through The Lens Ambassador, multi award-winning actress and activist alongside other industry trailblazers, each sharing their unique experience on the challenges and opportunities facing underrepresented genders in the film industry. 

On 21st June, the actress and musician attended a Private Reception at the Chopard Rooftop at Hotel Martinez to launch a film funding initiative aimed at underrepresented filmmakers. Internationally renowned jewellery brand, Chopard, and film initiative, Breaking Through The Lens, held the event to announce a new Action Grant in support of underrepresented filmmakers. Shruti was introduced as part of the Grant’s Jury alongside Chopard President, Caroline Scheufele.

Shruti has just wrapped filming her first international production, The Eye, a female-helmed production with Fingerprint Content, and is in Cannes with the director, Daphne Schmon, for her other work on gender parity.

The actress and musician, known for her multifaceted acting skills and powerful performances, has used her social platforms to speak out about the issues faced by women in the entertainment industry and has been a strong supporter of initiatives aimed at promoting gender parity.
