- You are producing the film, so were there any challenges you faced?
Our talented cast and crew worked tirelessly to achieve perfection during the filming of this movie, which went off without a hitch. Unfortunately, the first wave of the COVID-19 pandemic struck as soon as we finished filming, delaying the release of this movie. But I’m glad that viewers will soon get to see Money Back Guarantee in theaters worldwide on the 21st of April, 2023!
- What makes this film different from all the other films you’ve done before?
Well, Money Back Gurantee is mine and Zashko Films’ first-ever worldwide theatrical release. We also have a humongous cast, 28 of the most talented performers in Pakistan are all present here. This is the first time we will see Pakistani talent spotlighted on such an unprecedented scale, globally. All these factors contribute to this movie being not only unlike anything I’ve done before but also unlike anything the Pakistani Film industry has done before.
- If any, what research did you have to undertake before making the film?
I play Ilyas Khamiri, a man whose family is from Kashmir, so naturally, I spent a lot of time researching the people of Kashmir, trying to understand their perspective, culture, and lifestyle. I had to hit the gym too of course as Kashmiri is a very athletic daredevil, prone to starting fights and winning them.
- What is the best thing you like about your character?
Um, everything! Ilyas may be prone to cause trouble every now and then but he’s got a heart of gold. Plus, he can climb walls and do summersaults like it’s nothing, which in my humble opinion, is beyond awesome.
- What do you want audiences to take away from this film?
The strength there is to be found in unity, despite our differences, is definitely the message we want to get across to our audience. At its core, Money Back Gurantee celebrates the ethnic and cultural diversity of Pakistan and highlights the need for people to stick together despite personal and societal biases.
