The plight of Bangladeshi restaurateurs based in London’s curry capital, Brick Lane, was highlighted in speeches given by Rt Hon Hillary Benn MP, Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, and Lord Karan Bilimoria, at the prestigious Bangladesh Caterers’ Association Annual Dinner Party, on Sunday 2nd December at Hilton Park Lane, London.

I’m put in my place and told WOMAD is the World of Music and Dance, a 3 day festival which takes place in the UK every year, with 2007 being the 25th anniversary. It’s a daunting prospect,
I’m about to lose my festival virginity to WOMAD.
How do I dress? What do I take? I’m a creature of habit.
I like my own bed, my own pillow and most importantly I like my own ‘house of office’. The thought of sitting on a loo where a thousand other people have sat before me is terrifying.
