Calling all fashionistas. Is finding the perfect Asian outfit stressful? Have you discovered that it’s not always as straightforward as you might hope? Traipsing around endless shops, sourcing quality outfits and getting the best deal is a tough ask. Discerning customers seek originality, understated elegance and high quality, as well as the option to have the outfit made to measure, and all at reasonable prices. But this has been virtually unattainable… until now.
The Asian Summer Trunk Show 2016 will showcase a selection of upcoming fashion and jewellery designers from India and Pakistan who are new to the UK audiences. Brought to you by Nikaza Studio and Prints & Motifs, the show will feature designs that meet the needs of young, contemporary audiences looking for creativity, versatility and personality in their fashion choices.
The Asian Summer Trunk Show 2016 will take place on Thursday 9th June at The Danubius Hotel in London, from 11am-7pm. Entry is free. The show will have something for everyone – high quality Asian fashion under one roof, all at very reasonable prices.
Established by Jasmine Kotecha in 2014, Nikaza Studio combines a distinctive blend of western chic and ethnic glamour offering timeless style and effortless flair. The Studio features outfits that are on-trend, versatile and eye catching – to make you stand out from the crowd. Available by appointment only, the West London studio offers customers the opportunity to view and try on stunning designs that are not available widely on the high street.
Jasmine has partnered with fashion curator Deepa Sasan Bagai, founder of Prints & Motifs, which specialises in hand-picked collections of traditional and contemporary women’s outfits from India and Pakistan. Set up in 2015, Prints & Motifs is a platform for upcoming South Asian designers who cater not only for the discerning Indian diaspora but also those seeking an ethnic flair for their western outfits.
Jasmine and Deepa have come together to present UK audiences with a fresh and exciting range of stunning new Summer, Occasion and Bridal collections from some of the hottest young designers. Amongst those already confirmed to showcase their stunning collections in the Summer Truck show are:
Parul Goel (New Delhi) – Be Your Own Kind Of Beautiful
“Be Your Own Kind of Beautiful” Is the motto for designer Parul Goel who started the label five years ago. With an array of styles and designs, and a client base spread across four countries, Parul’s forte is hand and machine embroidery on a variety of different fabrics such as georgette and net as well as beautiful prints in pastels and bright colours.
Shibori (Pakistan) – Delicate, Elegant Designs
by Amna Usman
The Shibori label represents Elegance, Style and Panache. The brand creates accessible clothes that not only look good, but feel fantastic to wear. Modern or traditional, heavily worked or elegantly embellished outfits, the fashion house run by creative director Amna Usman produces timelessly beautiful garments, season after season – perfect for women of all ages.
101 Creations (London) – Bespoke Jewellery by Heena Gandhi
101 Creations is a London-based jewellery hub, launched by Heena Gandhi in 2014. It specialises in bespoke pieces but also offers a ready-to-wear collection. Her aim is to source timeless pieces of jewellery with an on-trend ‘wow’ factor. Beautiful organic shapes and raw finishes set her apart from her competitors. In a nutshell classic with contemporary designs describes 101 creations.
Ra Abta (New Delhi) – Rich & Royal Adornments by Rahul Luthra
Rahul Luthra defines his brand Ra-Abta as an incarnation of art to be desired and valued. Each piece of jewellery is exquisitely handcrafted and each gemstone is handpicked to guarantee quality. Femininity forms the essence of the label with styles that signify youth, glamour and sophistication. The latest collection Jardin (Garden) is inspired from ‘Flora and Fauna’ motifs. Each piece in this collection consists of individually handcrafted rings, chains with floral pendants, heavy neckpieces, and bracelets. Interested in artistry and design since childhood, Rahul studied Gemology & Jewellery Design and is now an accredited jewellery professional from the Gemological Institute of America.
Nino’s Creations (Pakistan) – Bespoke Handmade Jewellery from Multan
Nino’s Creations creates bespoke handmade jewellery. Hailing from one the oldest cities in the world, Multan, the collection boasts centuries of rich heritage and colourful culture and this is encapsulated perfectly in each of the pieces in the collection. The jewellery is a perfect blend of colors and designs. Entrepreneur Nareen Awan’s team of artisans have the skill and expertise to make stunning jewellery.
