NEW YORK FASHION FILM FESTIVAL COMES TO MOSCOW

New York, March 26, 2013. From March 29 to April 2, 2013 the 26th Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia will be hosting a 5-day screening of fashion films presented by NYFFF (New York Fashion Film Festival). Biggest fashion week in Eastern Europe, Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia expects more than 45.000 attendees this season and all fashion week guests will be able to watch fashion-inspired works of Roman Polanski, Ryan McGinley, Steven Meisel and others.

This spring New York Fashion Film Festival announced partnership with Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia. Russian fashionistas will receive a special access to 20 most remarkable short fashion films of the NYFFF. All NYFFF fashion films will be demonstrated on the 550 sq. feet video wall installed in the fashion week's main lobby at Manege next to Moscow's Kremlin. Fashion week screening will be followed by a special Fashion Moviement Night at the Moscow Museum of Modern Art on April 1.

New York Film Festival that managed to combine two world’s most popular genres – fashion and movie – began in 2011. Since then NYFFF features a selection of the year’s outstanding works and puts on the agenda fashion related topics. 2013 Festival program includes short films of Solve Sundsbo, Quentin Jones, Danny Sangra, Santiago & Mauricio, Steven Meisel, Inez & Vinoodh, Ryan McGinley and other contemporary painters, photographers and producers as well as movies shot especially for Prada, Kenzo, Opening Ceremony, Alexander Wang, Nina Ricci.

The short film “A THERAPY” by Roman Polanski starring Ben Kingsley and Helena Bohnam Carter successfully premiered at the Cannes Film Festival and later at the NYFFF depicts a story of a therapist who becomes enamored of the Prada coat belonging to his self-absorbed patient. You can also get a truly aesthetic pleasure from watching the Pierre Debusschere “The Lake” film with striking French Isild le Besco – one of the most prominent independent film personality of present time. And for those attracted by music-oriented fashion the program features a collaboration of Alexander Wang and South African hip hop sensation Die Antwoord directed by Daniel Jackson. All these films are featured in the screening program of Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia.

Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia (previously known as Russian Fashion Week) was launched in 2000. Today Moscow's key fashion event is recognized as a biggest fashion week in Eastern Europe. Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Russia showcases most prominent Russian designers twice per year – in March  and October.
