“My Second First Film” director Aditya Chopra on Befikre out today!

Befikre

In the words of director #AdityaChopra, it’s all about being #Befikre

Releasing this Friday is the eagerly awaited, Ranveer Singh and Vaani Kapoor starrer, Befikre. The film has been directed by none other than, Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge director, Aditya Chopra. With a first film that has been so impactful, even to this day, it is understandable for Aditya to be nervous with every new film he makes. And that’s exactly how he’s feeling right now, days before the release of Befikre. Similar to a note he had released, addressed to his late father Yash Chopra, asking for his blessings to make the film, he has now released a note charting his journey making the movie.

In the note, he outlines his fears as a director in today’s day and age, how much the world of love and relationships has changed, and most notably, his fear of failing. He mentions that in order to step out of his comfort zone, and make a film that did not lean on the beliefs he used in his first film – dramatic conflict, heightened emotions, and intense romance, he decided to shoot the film in the unknown (to him) city of Paris, with a completely foreign crew. He calls the experience “scary, but liberating,” and even bravely mentions that he is “shit scared”.
