‘Make Some Noise’ – Sona Family
The album ‘Make Some Noise’ is out on the 26th August and features killer dance tracks steeped in sexy Arabic vibes like ‘Dil Deewana’, the heavy guitar laden anthem ‘Get On Down’ and the crunked up ‘Chak De’ featuring New York’s No 1 South Asian DJ, DJ Sharad. You can also take a ride through new age dancehall meets Hindi club vibes with the uncompromisingly sexy, booty shaking ‘Taali Bajow’ where you can find yourself “riding the rickshaw”!
Complimenting their dance floor gems there is a sophisticated blend of original old school R’n’B joints with the bi-lingual love song ‘Tare Tooteh’, the addictive sweet melody of ‘Secret Rendezvous’ and the summer time jam ‘Everything’.
‘Make Some Noise’ is topped off with seriously witty slabs of hip hop that flirt around the border of Indian flavours especially with the J-NAS produced track ‘Hey Hey’ just for the ladies. Also, picking up where their global smash hit ‘Glassy’ left off and another hit in the making the album brings forward ‘More Glassy’.
Finally, reaching back to their own grassroots and especially for the hip hop heads out there, there is the infectious ‘Hai Kuthi’ [Hey Bitch] and an expedition into the world of the Black Money aka the ‘Kala Paisa’.
The collective include, on production duties Harry Sona, slick honeyed vocals of Mr. Riz,, female rock-stress Kazz and turntable antics courtesy of mixmaster extraordinaire JC. It’s the collective’s idiosyncratic personalities and tri-lingual expertise is what makes the Family stand out from the pack and destined for the bright lights of success.
As they inject a meter long solution of blistering beats and thigh-slapping humour into all of their creations, the family also manage to seamlessly unite scorching R&B, Crunk, Rock, dancehall and slabs of infectious Hip Hop laced with a sprinkling of desi piquancy to the mix… ‘Make Some Noise’ is an album not to be missed.
