Jagmeet Singh Makes HISTORY by becoming the first non- white leader of a political party in Canada to have a seat in Parliament.

Jagmeet Singh makes history by becoming the first non-white leader of a political party in Canada to have a seat in Parliament. He secured 38% of votes in a closely watched race in Burnaby, east of Vancouver. By Jagmeet winning a seat in parliament, this will give him a chance to run for prime minister.

Jagmeet Singh is a practising Sikh and former legislator. He became the leader for a new democrat party called NPD in 2017, despite no experience in federal politics.  In 2017, he gained a lot of public attention when a video circulated of a angry heckler disrupting his campaign rally and started verbally abusing him.

After winning in the election, Jagmeet Posted on Facebook Thanking all his supporting – ‘

Thank you Burnaby South! I’m determined & ready to fight for the help people need – from the housing crisis to health care not covering everyone the way it should, Canadians deserve better. This isn’t the end of a campaign – it’s the beginning of one. See you in Parliament’

His brother Gurratan Singh took to twitter and stated that people have underestimated his brother and he will continue to fight and win every battle.
