His previous job was as an Editor at Five Live working on the Victoria Derbyshire programme.



He also edited the Matthew Bannister and Fi Glover shows as well as Up All Night.

 He has worked across BBC News including spells at Today on Radio 4, News 24 and the World Service. 

Husain led the team in New York that made Five Live's Sony Gold winning breakfast programme after the 2001 September 11th attacks.


 He was the output editor on Today at the start of the Iraq war in 2003. He was also in charge of Five Live's output as the July the 7th bombers struck in 2005.



Husain has worked as a reporter around the world for Five Live covering cricket match fixing in India and South Africa, child slavery in West Africa and race relations in Leeds.
