Harvey Sahota

Harvey Sahota is a unique member of the new multicultural world. The first generation British Asian, (his family, originally from Dholeta – Jalandhar, India) was born and raised in London, UK.

During his teens, Harvey began to show a growing passion to learn and play instruments of Indian origin including the Dholak, Dhol and Tabla.
Over the years Harvey was recognized as a refined musician and consequently played with and alongside some of the best live musicians of the UK bhangra industry. Typical bands included Alaap, DCS and The Sahotas.
Whilst at University, Harvey concentrated his efforts to explore other areas of his musical ability. Singing and production became his next venture.
He was mentored by the legendary Tarsem Kalyan (Alaap), but also, The Sahotas proudly guided Harvey to give him his unique sound, style and fusion of eastern and western musical influences.
Harvey soon propelled himself into a musical career when, in late 2003, came the release of 'Punjabi X' – The Debut Album. (A production partnership formed by Harvey and a co-producer). It featured the massive hit track 'Kurri Punjaban' sung and produced by Harvey, which can still be viewed on Zee Music and other Asian music channels.
Harvey is currently working on a number of projects including his solo debut album as yet untitled.
Harvey continues his musical career as a solo artist/producer now known simply as Harvey Sahota.
