Forget about Crying over Lost Love, Manjinder Brar’s new song will give you Reasons to Celebrate

A Filmy Gang directorial, the song released on TOB Gang’s YouTube channel.

Monsoon, the season of love and romance, has just arrived. Rain showers, dreamy breeze, greenery all around and the love of your life in your embrace, this season are a reminder of all this and more. Several singers have sung ballads praising saawan and baarish. However, this year, Punjabi music industry is all set to celebrate heartbreak with Manjinder Brar’s track ‘Sharaab Teri Yaad’.

‘Sharaab Teri Yaad’ is a sad song with all the right beats and pump. Add to that Manjinder Brar’s roaring rustic voice, and the song has all the elements to be the next break-up anthem. His last two outings, Dhokhebaaz and Bob Marley, have already won over the Punjabi listeners. Just like the last two songs, the singer has once again collaborated with the musical genius The Boss. The talented music director has Kulwinder Billa’s KohinoorDekhi Chal from Ammy Virk-starrer Harjeeta and Jordan Sandhu’s Teeje Week to his credit. The lyrics of the song have also been penned down by Brar himself.  The video of Sharaab is directed by the hit-duo Rajbir Dhanjal (RD) & Divyajot Singh (DJ), popularly monickered, the Filmy Gang.

The singer of the song, Manjinder Brar said, “Haven’t we all had the friends who drown in Sharaab after their break-ups? We have all been there. I wanted to put that feeling into a song when nothing matters but that sweet oblivion. We are not promoting alcohol; the song is for sheer entertainment. We hope people will hear it with the same feeling, of just having fun, that we have made it with.”

Music director, The Boss told, “I had composed ‘Sharaab Teri Yaad’way before Manjinder’s Bob Marley. It is always a delight to work with an artist who knows his craft like a pro. Brar’s singing is deep-rooted into the culture of Punjab, it has a folk timbre. While composing for him, I make sure to put every folk instrument of our state to use. We really hope that people will like our work leaving the controversies behind.”

“We had shot the song in Australia. If you’ve seen the video, we have really paid attention to details. We especially got the bottle throne and chandelier designed to make it an extravagant song. Now with the release of the song, we give it to the listeners to judge and decide. We hope that they will take it as a party number, what we have actually aimed at making”, said the directors Rajbir Dhanjal and Divyajot Singh.

The song released on the TOB Gang’s official YouTube channel.
