Bob Shennan

He was appointed Controller of Five Live in August 2000..
Bob started his career as a journalist for Hereward Radio.
He has held a variety of senior roles in BBC Sport including from 1998 to 2000 the Head of BBC Sport. 
In this role he was responsible for overseeing all sport on BBC ONE, BBC TWO BBC News 24, BBC National and Local radio and the BBC’s sport online. Under Bob Shennan’s Controllership, Five Live reached a record audience in 2002 of just under 7 million listeners.
The station celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2004.   Since late 2004 Bob has had overall Managerial responsibility for the BBC Asian Network. He introduced an evolution process that has seen the Network increase its budget, appoint a new Management team and revise the station’s schedule to complete its transition to a National Digital Network.
