BBC Asian Network presenter Tommy Sandhu goes the extra mile for Sport Relief!!
New BBC Asian Network Drive Time presenter Tommy Sandhu is leading the station’s activity for next month’s Sport Relief. Tommy, who launches his new national weekday radio show this week, will be leading a special BBC Asian Network wave at Birmingham’s Sport Relief Mile on Sunday 21st March.
To start the training for the main event, larger than life Tommy will be out in Victoria Square, Birmingham on Friday 19th February at 12pm, getting everyone warmed up for the BBC Asian Network wave at the Birmingham Mile. He will be put through his paces by the Hina and Co Bollywood Dance Group to ensure that he is well prepared for the big day and encouraging members of the public to join in and enter the Birmingham Mile at sportrelief.com. You can hear all about it by listening to the BBC Asian Network from 3pm on Friday, when Tommy will also be joined by a very special guest giving him some tips for his Mile.
On Sunday 21st March, Tommy will lead a host of other BBC Asian Network presenters and Asian celebrities as they embark on the Sport Relief Mile in Cannon Hill Park, Birmingham. Tommy comments: ‘Normally I go to the gym for my own benefit and if I don’t feel up to a session then I just bail out and have a pie but now I really want to see this through because it’s for a great cause! Fingers crossed I make it; I haven’t ran a mile in years! Trust me, if I can do it, anyone can…!’
