AJ Wavy Talks Desi Bop!

  1. What was your inspiration behind the track Desi Bop?

The motivation for desi bop was to bring back classics like Kolaveri Di and put a whole new twist on them! Listening back to these tracks really inspired me to create something that would connect with the audience I have to today. My love for afro and hip pop beats was something I was so excited to include in this track!

  • When did you first realise that music would be path you wanted to take?

My passion for music has been around for as long as I can remember! I think however I started considering it as a path when I started producing tracks properly. The more I learnt, the more determined I became to making it a reality! It’s been an incredible journey with many ups and downs but I’m so grateful for where I’ve got so far. Can’t wait to see what’s in store next!

  • How did you incorporate your influencers into Desi Bop?

Making transition sounds has become second nature for me so I really wanted a fun way to engage influencers. For this track I decided to mix it with different audios like ‘Before/after’ so people could use the sound to create fun videos and interact with the track in their own unique way!

  • Is there anything you want your fans to take away from Desi Bop?

The idea of the track was to be a fun upbeat song with a new twist on some familiar songs! I hope the fans who heard the track got this from it and also liked the bollywood infusion I created!

  • What made you decide that Desi Bop will be your first single?

The vast majority of my mashups so far have been a mix of western and Bollywood songs so I really wanted to create a completely desi mix for my first release! Hearing some of my old favourites like Kolaveri Di really inspired me to bring it back in a new and modern way!
