After Bhaag DK Bose, Banda Tere Liye Emerges as the Next Major Chart Contender

Aamir Khan Productions’ upcoming film Happy Patel: Khatarnak Jasoos starring Vir Das is all set for its release and the makers have now dropped a new banger titled Banda Tere Liye. The song is a refreshing new take on Bollywood’s long standing idea of romance on screen bringing a playful and modern twist to the dance number. After Bhaag DK Bose, a quirky Bollywood number from Delhi Belly which became a massive success, Banda Tere Liye is soon to join the list of chartbusters

Traditionally, Hindi cinema has often showcased women performing songs and dance numbers to woo their leading men but Banda Tere Liye has changed the trend. For the first time in mainstream Bollywood, the spotlight is on the male lead and he is seen wooing and performing wholeheartedly for his lady love, while the woman sits back and watches him perform. 

The song features Vir Das and Mithila Palkar, both bring their signature charm and effortless grace respectively to this romantic setting. Their onscreen chemistry gives the track an easy breeze appeal that makes it an extremely entertaining watch. 

Banda Tere Liye is an out-and-out banger. Sung by Ash King and Ajay Jayanthi, the track is vibrant and catchy, with vocals that perfectly complement its playful mood. The music, composed by Ajay Jayanthi and Parth Parekh, blends modern beats with a desi sensibility, making it ideal for repeat listens.

Aamir Khan Productions has always ventured into unconventional storytelling with utmost finesse. Having delivered remarkable films like Lagaan, Taare Zameen Par, Dangal, and Secret Superstar, this marks yet another attempt at presenting unique cinema. Interestingly, they are collaborating with the renowned stand-up comedian Vir Das, who has not only performed globally with his acclaimed comedy specials but has also acted in films like Go Goa Gone, Badmaash Company, and Delhi Belly. This film marks Vir’s second collaboration with Aamir Khan Productions after Delhi Belly.

Produced under the banner of Aamir Khan Productions, Happy Patel is directed by Vir Das and is slated to release in theatres on 16th January 2026.
