HIT THAT – DEELITE MC & MR SHAY
A Midlands collab between two exciting artists; Leicester’s, Mr Shay and Deelite MC. The track titled ‘Hit That’ is based on the Bollywood sample Balam Pichkari and follows the theme of dangerous love! The two rappers created the track with the help of talented producer PJ and engineer Aaron Hira. Hit That was entirely completed in one late night studio session, when the four artists decided to amalgamate their musical skills together. Since completing the song, the boys have worked on many other collaborations and have performed at Melas and other celebration events.

The unique video features the two rappers performing on stage at different events such as Leicester Mela and Diwali, including special appearances from BBC Radio’s Bobby Friction and Arshia Riaz. As well as rapping on the track Mr Shay is also responsible for the production of the video. “I wanted the video to be raw and honest as well as fun and exciting. The aim was to capture the rush which is felt every time we perform on stage, from an up close and personal angle.”

The response from the crowd has been very positive with groups singing the catchy chorus out loud. The duo’s aim is to bridge the gap between young and old, East and West, but most importantly to bring the feel good factor through their music. Mr Shay and Deelite MC are due to release some brand new singles featuring collaborations with other local artists, so keep your ears and eyes pealed!
