Karenjeet Bains gets Gold in the Squat, Gold in the Deadlift

Karenjeet Bains is the first Sikh woman to lift weights for Britain at a competition and win! The 22-year-old from Warwickshire is the first Sikh woman to compete for Britain at the event.

Dreams really do come true!! I vowed since I was 19 years old and came away from the 2015 Commonwealth Games that I would one day win this….19/09/19 like the stars were aligned… I DID IT!!!!! 🙏🏽🙏🏽
