Mini-India Draws Thousands for Village India & Experience Gujarat Festival
The vibrant sounds, sights and smells of the sub-continent saw De Montfort Hall in Leicester transformed into a mini-India this weekend (11-13 September)
Europe’s Curry Capital plays host to Europe’s biggest celebration of exotic food and culture Brick Lane Curry Festival, with lead sponsor Cobra Beer, returns in 2009 even bigger, better and tastier than before as once again, Europe’s Curry Capital pays homage to the nation’s favourite dish – the curry!
Launching on Sunday 27th September 2009, the two-week festival will comprise a hearty celebration of exotic food, culture and the full flavours of the East, running until Saturday 10th October 2009.
The Chef of the Year: Banglatown ’09will also be selected during the outdoor Best Curry Competition on Wednesday 23rd September.
BBC Asian Network is set to host one of Leicester’s largest cultural events, Village India & Experience Gujarat. The event which is expected to attract over 40,000 people, takes place from 10th -13th September 2009 in the grounds and auditorium of De Montfort Hall and Gardens, Leicester and there’ll be a complete reconstruction of an Indian village to add to the whole experience.
