Star Becomes Media Partner Of Asian Women Of Achievement Awards 2008

A total of 44 remarkable Asian women have been shortlisted for the prestigious awards and the winners will be announced at the star-studded ceremony taking place on 20th May at Hilton London, Park Lane. Previous attendees of the event include HRH The Princess of Wales, HRH The Duchess of Cornwall, Liz Hurley and Patron, Cherie Blair.  
STAR is immensely proud to contribute to the awards ceremony, by being the exclusive media partner for the event and televising it across UK and Europe. The partnership with the Asian Women of Achievement Awards reaffirms STAR’s fundamental principle of broadcasting the widest possible spectrum of programming across entertainment, community and current affairs, as well as the highest level of news and sports reporting.
The commitment to telecast the awards ceremony also reflects the channel’s commitment to celebrating the achievements of Asian women in the UK.   
The eight coveted awards to be announced on the night comprise: Arts & Culture Award, Business Woman of the Year Award, Entrepreneur of the Year Award, Media Professional of the Year Award, Professional of the Year Award, Public Sector Award, Social & Humanitarian Award and the Young Achiever of the Year Award.
A special award will also be presented to one outstanding Woman of Achievement. The ceremony and accompanying evening of first class entertainment and jubilations will be brought exclusively by STAR to viewers at home.  The Asian Women of Achievement Awards will be broadcast exclusively on STAR Plus on Sunday 22nd June at 7.00pm.
