SS15 Fashion Trend Alert
Stripes, Checks and Gingham
Its stripes galore this season back with all its glory (was a big trend back in SS13) on the catwalks of Erin Fetherstone, Celine, Louis Vuitton, Tommy Hilfigure, Mui Mui the sister label to Prada, artistic inpsired designs by Jasper Conran, we also seen creative directors Maria Grazia Chiuri and Pierpaolo Piccioli work their magic on the Valentino collection for Spring.
Sooooo..do get out those Breton tops and get a bit nautical but do it with a modern twist for a more elegant yet fun look.
There were unexpected twists to silhouettes this SS15 with stripes ranging from wide to colorful fine lines and warped to create optical illusions or were just kept plain and simple. Either way there are now stripes for every type of women out there all we have to do is pick one that is best suited to our body shapes.
Checks and Gingham is going strong on the catwalks for Spring even though we were wearing this trend last season it is now being shown off in a more sophisticated way as seen at Oscar de la Renta, Diane Von Furstenberg who took inspiration from the Riviera, Michael Kors which showed the retro picnic blanket pattern is arising showcasing pieces that were cool and girly, Stella McCartney showed practicality in her designs and models were dressed playfully at Vivienne Westwood. Issey Miyake mixed rich bright colours with her checks and Sportmax displayed interesting pieces too. Balmain had their man the one and only Olivier Rousteing working his magic on the runway as well as on the Kardashian sisters.
As you can see our lovely celebrities have already been seen strutting the new looks some taken straight from the runways.
I have gathered some pieces that are available on the highstreet that stood out to me. You can pair up these with denim which is another key trend this season for a more casual look or dress it up with leather trousers or skirt.
