Speedy Singh Launch Party Makes the Highlights for Toronto International Film Festival

On this star studded night, the cast members cast members Rob Lowe, Akshay Kumar, Anupam Kher, Vinay Virmani, and Russell Peters discussed the film, their experiences shooting in Toronto, and also shared the excitement that is, launching Speedy Singh the Toronto International Film Festival. 
The film Speedy Singh premiered at Toronto, refreshes the coming-of-age formula for the Indo Canadian Community. Anupam Kher plays a strict father just as he did in Beckham, he admits the similarity, “ It’s different , but yes in terms of look and being the father of a sportsperson, there is a similarity. But the canvas is bigger, over there it was one girl who wanted to play football, Speedy Singh talks about the entire community”  
The lead actor, who has already become a craze all over the world, Vinay Virmani says, “ From a hockey standpoint, it breaks down racial barriers within the game.”   Grammy hip hop artist Ludacris flew to Toronto and surprised ‘his main man’ Akshay Kumar at his private birthday party (in Toronto).
The party was also attended by Canadian Prime Minister the Hon Stephen Harper and the First Lady. Ludacris jammed up a storm as he performed on Shera di Kaum with his producer Akshay Kumar. The star studded celebration for Speedy Singh was the highlights for this year’s Toronto International Film Festival.
Akshay Kumar , the producer of Speedy Singh was overwhelmed with the great response to the film and commented, “The whole idea is to take Bollywood more and more global. This is just one step towards that. I want to take it further. I want to produce more and more films like that,”   
Speedy Singh’ unites drama, action, sport and comedy on the big screen, injecting a hearty measure of Bollywood magic into Canada’s favourite sport – hockey.
Releasing in cinemas across UK and worldwide on 30th September 2011.
