Singer Reena Kaur launches ‘Opening Doors to Tradition’ book

Reena Kaur is committed to the evolution, development and promotion of ladies sangeet in the UK.

Reena feels the time has come to articulate a detailed account of her vision and what sangeet really means. ‘Opening Doors to Tradition’ is the culmination of 20 years of study and practice of this ancient Indian art form combining this with an intimate portrait of how as a mother and single parent she fought against the odds to achieve her goals and ambitions.

This original and informative book has chapters on the history of Indian folk songs, Indian culture, the Indian wedding tradition as well as a comprehensive list of songs that make this into a totally different art form.

‘Opening Doors to Tradition’ opens doors in many ways, Reena Kaur presents all this all in easy readable style and reminds us that the tradition has an impact today as it did in the ancient past and invites you to step across the threshold and open the doors and your mind to a proud tradition.

The official book launch will take place on Friday 17th June 2016 6.30pm at City Banqueting Suite, Birmingham where press, VIP guests will be given the Punjabi theme experience, singing to boliyan and entertainment by H Dhami and Saqi Road Show.
