Serese

Serese

After four months of auditions in five different boroughs, twenty-seven different schools
and colleges and after seeing over three hundred and fifty students, something
unexpected had already begun to materialise. A selection of the best were put through a
final audition and after several hours seven successful students where chosen.
After firstly working individually with a vocal coach, an idea was taken one step
further and a few of the girls sang together.
The idea worked, and an all girl vocal band was formed.

Serese

Anita Sharma and Anu Sihota are two of that original line-up, but when the other girl left after a year we had to find the right third member to complete the new line-up. It took the best part of the following year looking for our missing link, advertising and auditioning week in and week out. Then after about a year it happened. Call it fate, but the girl that was to complete the line-up was someone Anu had known for years. Along came Mandeep Gill. Filling the gap perfectly and once again Serese were up and running.
The new look Serese now had to get back to the hard graft, but with a fresh lease of life. Rehearsing, writing and recording. Working on the live sets, one with fully choreographed dance routines, the other LIVE ACOUSTIC. Serese have a love for stripping down a song and performing live vocal Acappella with a live acoustic band. During 2005 and into 2006, the band has been performing on the acoustic circuit and are now being acknowledged as one of the only all girl vocal line-up to have the ability to perform to that level. But that’s only part of their live experience. From acoustic gigs like: The Bedford, Sound and Café-de-Paris, they go on to full big stage events. Performing at places like: The NEC in Birmingham, Alexandra Palace and endless summer festivals and Mela’s.
2005 was a successful year for Serese, with the band gaining a lot of industry interest, including interest from writing and production teams home and abroad. Like their trip to record in Norway, which was a new experience for the girls. Working in two studios with two production teams simultaneously with great results.
Look out 2006 here we come!
