Say Hello to the New Chief of Air Marshal BS Dhanoa!

screen-shot-2016-12-20-at-3-26-07-pmIt’s been announced and confirmed that Air Marshal BS Dhanoa will be taking over for Air Chief Marshal Arup Raha as he’ll be retiring this December 31st, 2016.

Previous to his role as Air Chief Marshal Dhanoa was leading the South-Western Air Command, a qualified instructor who joined the IAF as a fighter pilot in June of 1978.

Dhanoa was awarded the Yudh Seva Medal for his courageous leadership commanding a fire squadron during the Kargil Operations; and for flying numerous night strike missions in the mountainous terrains.

He will be the third Sikh known to head IAF after military leaders Arjan Singh and Dilbag Singh.
