R’n’B SUPERSTAR JAY SEAN STORMS THE LEBARA MOBILE UK ASIAN MUSIC AWARDS 2010

Royal Festival Hall, London, 11th March: Last night saw a host of British Asian, Urban and International talent come together to celebrate what has been a phenomenal year for the British Asian music industry. 
The night belonged to Brit Asian star Jay Sean, who cleaned up all four of his nominations to pick up the Best Male, Best Album, Best Video and Best Urban act awards.
The night capped a prolific year for Houslow-born Sean, who shot to number one on the Billboard Hot 100 last year, becoming the highest selling British artist in America since Elton John.

Hosted by BBC Asian Network’s Bobby Friction and Bollywood actress Sophie Choudry, the Lebara Mobile UK Asian Music Awards (UK AMAs) saw spectacular performances from a variety of talent from across the globe including Dutch ‘desi’ Imran Khan, Universal’s latest dance diva Jaya, rising Urban star Mumzy Stranger, Bollywood superstars RDB, Bhangra heartthrob Jaz Dhami and the legendary Talvin Singh. 
An exciting mix of celebrities graced the Lebara Mobile ‘Blue Carpet’ including world champion boxer Amir Khan, number one rappers Chipmunk & DJ Ironik, Eastenders star Preeya Kalidas, award winning director Gurinder Chadha (‘Bend It Like Beckham’, ‘It’s A Wonderful Afterlife’), actors Jimi Mistry (‘The Guru’, ‘2012’) & Hari Dhillon (‘Holby City’), Manish Bhasin (‘Match of the Day’), American Idol finalist Anoop Desai and the Sugababes, who also set the stage alight with a very special performance.

Now in their eighth year the Lebara Mobile UK AMAs have grown from strength to strength and have this year formed new partnerships with radio partner BBC Asian Network and title sponsor Lebara Mobile, as well as strengthening an existing relationship with global broadcast partner B4U Music.
