KIDS CANCER CHARITY EVENT on Friday 4th December 2015

Tony Bains and Jess Kaur have organised a charity event in support of Kids Cancer, held on Friday December 4th 2015 at Tower Ballroom, Birmingham. Suki Bart will be hosting the night and Punjab2000 the events official photographers. The event will be held in support of eight year old Akashpreet Singh, who suffers from blood cancer and many other children throughout India with severe illnesses.

Akashpreet Singh is at an age when he should be running freely with his friends without a care in the world but is sadly spending most of his time in hospital, undergoing traumatic tests and treatments after being diagnosed with blood cancer.

The brave young boy started his course of chemotherapy at the PGI hospital in Chandigarh, which doctors say could take up to three years to complete. For the first six months of Akashpreet’s treatment his parents Surjit Singh and Harjit Kaur have been advised to rent a room within the hospital grounds so they can be close to their son.

Unfortunately the medical and accommodation costs are far beyond that of his parents means who are humble householders. The cost of Akashpreet’s treatment for the first year are estimated to be extremely high which places extra pressure on his heartbroken mother and father. However doctors have said that the success rate for a full recovery with medication is about 70%. Sikh Relief have assured Surjit Singh and Harjit Kaur that together with the Sangat’s support they will help to lift the dark clouds hanging over the family and bring a return to brighter skies for Akashpreet.
