Jit Singh and SWAT – Leicester January 2017
A fantastic event organised by Jit Singh and S.W.A.T. (Sikh Welfare Awareness Team) took place on Saturday 28th January 2017 in Leicester at the Shri Guru Dashmesh Sahib Gurudwara. This specific event was to promote the importance of strength, fighting and self defence. Events like this inspire the younger generation to feel empowered and focused. In today’s society we can easily be led towards negative walks of life so having workshops and events like this can help prevent that from happening.
Great role models attended and demonstrated their skills with the youngsters including Barinder Singh (RESPECT fitness) and 18 year old Team GB fighter Harleen Kaur. Harleen Kaur stated that she felt honoured to have attended and to witness such positivity and passion in flow. she also mentioned as a community we need to provide the younger generation with more sangat / community event in the future.
