Japan Runs Like Hell for Tara Priya!

Japan Runs Like Hell for Tara Priya!

Tara Priya continues her quest for global domination as her new single ‘Run Like Hell’ rockets through the iTunes R&B charts in Japan going straight in at No 22 and now sitting pretty at the No 6 position within just three days of a special iTunes pre-release. No mean feat as she overtakes Chris Brown, Usher, LMFAO, Ne-Yo and Keri Hilson!

The album, simply titled ‘Tara Priya’ has also created waves throughout the Japanese music scene entering the album charts at No. 11 and now already at the No 2 position on the R&B Charts ahead of massive mainstream artists like Gym Class Heroes, Rihanna and Alicia Keys!

The retro-soul artist has been overwhelmed by the love and support of the Japanese people. She says: "Please tell my fans that I am so happy that they like my music and completely humbled by their support and enthusiasm. I can't wait to come to Japan and meet everyone! The album and single's reception has been nothing short of amazing, and I could not be more excited to perform for all my Japanese fans!" Tara is due to visit Japan next week, to celebrate the official launch of her single and album.

She kicks off a strenuous ten-day promotional tour on February 2nd with a live performance at Tower Records Shinjuku in Tokyo – Japan’s largest record store!  Tara will also be performing live on Japan’s equivalent to This Morning, while MTV also jumps on the Tara band wagon with the charming video to her first single  ‘Rollin’ showcasing on the ‘MTV Brand New Mix’ Show!

There is no doubt that Japan has taken Tara to their hearts and her fan base is growing exponentially. In January, ‘Run Like Hell’ was released to Japanese radio, and within the first week of airplay, it stormed up the charts from 100 to No 28 zooming past Coldplay, Lady Gaga, Katy Perry and Jason Derulo on the ‘Tokio Hot 100’ on Japan's biggest station. It is now also No 8 on the National Hot 100
