JAI MAA DURGA’ MAKES ITS DRAMATIC TV DEBUT ON STAR PLUS

Devotion, drama and dazzling visual effects come to STAR TV as the epic saga, Jai Maa Durga, makes its spectacular screen debut on STAR Plus, on 22nd February, to be aired every Friday at 8.00pm.
The number one television channel in India, STAR Plus is committed to delivering the most dynamic and exciting programming content, unlike most of its archaic industry counterparts. Catering to the ever changing tastes and expectations across different generations of viewers not only in India, but across the globe, STAR Plus’ commitment to offering only the very best in programming brings Asian television well and truly into the 21st century, with something for everyone.
Never before has Indian television presented such an epic scale and visually breathtaking portrayal of a historical account, combined with Indian mythology. Unlike most previous televisual accounts of certain sagas in Indian mythology, Jai Maa Durga will appeal to both the young, as well as older generations, due to the lavish production value and stunning visual effects, which form the background for this tale of morality that holds more resonance than ever in contemporary society.
Jai Maa Durga is the captivating tale of ‘Surath’, Prince of Chandranagri and descendant of Manu, who has been chosen to rebuild the destroyed temple of Durga. Surath’s consort, ‘Sumukhi’, is a devout worshipper of goddess Durga and princess of neighbouring Vijaydurg. Their parents decide to get them married, and their chance meeting in the ruins of the temple is designed by divine forces, to inspire them to rebuild it. However, this will be no easy task, as evil forces conspire to do anything in their power to hinder the process.
A sumptuous costume drama, Jai Maa Durga is a story about relationships, devotion, deceit, lust and greed. It is the story of good versus evil – the existence of both is important for the balance of the universe. One cannot exist without the other, but when evil becomes too strong, divine powers have to intervene, so that mankind can survive another era.
Testament to STAR Plus’ ever evolving programming and a sure hit with audiences across the globe, Jai Maa Durga starts on STAR Plus on 22nd February, airing every Friday at 8.00pm.
