Waheguru Ji Ka Khalsa, Waheguru Ji Ki Fateh

October 2008 will mark 300 years since our tenth Guru, Sri Gobind Singh Ji bestowed the Guruship to our Eternal Living Guru, Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji.
We are delighted to announce that Sikh Sangat and Gurdwara Sahibs from all over the UK are uniting to celebrate this occasion of Dhan Dhan Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji's 300th Gurgaddi Divas on a much bigger scale, than ever before in the UK.
This is a major national event, one of the biggest taking place outside of India this year. It is envisaged to receive over 20,000 Sangat throughout the day.

Punjab2000 will be filming the whole event for showing on TV channels.

Guru Ka langar will also be served throughout the day from 5:30am when the event starts till the end at 6pm.

Timings from program

5.00am – Sukhmani Sahib
6.30am – Panj Bania Nitnem
8.00am – Asa Dee Vaar Kirtan
10.00am – Ardaas & start of main program
5.00pm – Rehraas Sahib
6.00pm – Final Ardaas


There will also be coaches going from Gurdwaras around the whole country and for people that do make it via Car, there will be free parking on site which is being organised.

The address for the program is:
Wymeswold Airfield,

Directions from the North:

– Follow the M1 to Junction 24
– At the roundabout take the second exit towards the A6 to Loughborough through Kegworth
– After the dual carriageway take the A6006 signposted Melton Mowbray for 6 miles
– At the traffic lights turn right onto the A60 signposted Loughborough
– Continue through Hoton as you exit the village turn left onto Prestwold Lane
– Wymeswold Air Field/ Prestwold Hall (Prestwold Driving School) is on the left

Directions from the South:

– Follow the M1 to Junction 21A and follow the signs for A6 to Loughborough
– Take the A6 turn towards Loughborough, then take the second exit for Barrow upon Soar and Quorn
– At the roundabout turn left and go straight into Barrow
– At the next roundabout turn left through the village
– Go straight at two mini roundabouts and out of Barrow on the B675 towards Hoton
– Wymeswold Air Field/ Prestwold Hall (Prestwold Driving School) is on the right immediately after the left hand turn to Loughborough
