British Actress Mandy Takhar makes her Bollywood debut

Mandy Takhar, a British born actress is quite simply living the Bollywood dream as she gets set for ‘Bumboo’ releasing on 30th March 2012. Already the main song of the film ‘Pinky Punjabi’ featuring Mandy is doing its rounds on the internet & Asian TV channels. The music video is said to be giving the likes of ‘Chikni Chameli’ and ‘Sheila Ki Jawani’ a run for its money.

The actress, who left the UK over 6 years ago to pursue her Bollywood dream has been working in Mumbai as a model and actress. Her first international break came when she starred as the lead actress in a Punjabi movie called ‘Ekam’ opposite the singer Babbu Maan and is now getting set for the release of her first Bollywood movie.

‘Bumboo’, directed by Jagdish Rajpurohit is a comedy tale based on the idea that in this life we all meet someone who comes and screws it all up. Each character in the film screws someone’s happiness which creates extremely humorous situations and rib tickling comedy. The film stars, Kavin Dave, Sharat Saxena, Sanjay Mishra, Sudhir Pandey, Sumit Kaul and of course Mandy Takhar who plays the main female lead of Pinky.

This year seems to be the start of things to come for Mandy Takhar, after the release of ‘Bumboo’, she will be seen in another big Punjabi movie, ‘Mirza’ opposite Gippy Grewal. The Punjabi film industry are already dubbing her as ‘The Punjabi Princess of Cinema’.

Mandy Takhar was born and raised in the city of Wolverhampton in the UK, but her life-long dream was always to be an actress, but not any actress – a Bollywood actress.She’s living the dream, and the dream goes on….
