BBC ASIAN NETWORK’S ADIL RAY GETS LISTENER IN TROUBLE WITH THE POLICE

One unlucky BBC Asian Network listener had a narrow escape with the police today thanks to Asian Network DJ Adil Ray.
Naz, a regular Asian Network listener in Birmingham was pulled over by police today accused of being drunk. Infact she was just laughing innocently at the oh-so-funny jokes on the Adil Ray show…after hearing the radio..the officer agreed and let her go!
Naz explained what happened;
"There were blue lights behind me and I just thought the police were just trying to get past. All of a sudden they were waving my way saying 'Pull over'!"
"Because I was laughing …. because Bally Island [the sketch on the radio] they thought I was drunk!"
"They didn't believe me initially but you guys were still laughing when I turned the radio back on and they did then"
Adil had only one response to the misunderstanding,
"If that ever happens and you're allowed one phone call – DO call the show!"
Last week, Adil Ray's Asian Network show was crowned 'Best Radio Show' at the UK Asian Music Awards beating off competition from other Asian Network shows, Kiss FM, Sunrise Radio and BBC 1Xtra
