Award Winning Luton Mela Returns For Its 16th Year On Aug 6th – 7th in Wardon Park
Award Winning Mela Returns and once again Punjab2000 are looking forward to covering a fantastic cultural weekend as official online media partners.
Luton Mela , voted best UK Mela 2015, in association with London Luton Airport Limited and Lebara Play returns once again to Wardown Park, Luton on Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th August for it’s 16th year.
Luton Mela is a free event that highlights the best in Asian performance and visual arts, with a host of local, national and international talent, as well as exceptional entertainment, showcasing the culturally diverse communities of the town. The event also features funfair rides for adults and children, Kidzone with fun activities, arts, crafts, a variety of stalls and an array of food stalls. The event attracted over 40,000 people in 2015.
Organised by the Luton Mela Group, this year’s celebration is set to deliver another star studded, packed weekend of free entertainment from around the world with a stage and entertainment marquee.
Confirmed performances for 2016 will include; Juggy D, Sahara, Roach Killa, Shide Boss, Tasha Tah, Raxstar, Dance Flavourz Britains Got Talent Semi Finalists 2010. Many more to look forward to.
This year we also have Sonia Sabri Company presenting Lok Virsa: Without Borders. This will include Dhol Drumming, Bhangra Dance performances, Rangoli Workshops, Folk Dance Performances and Qawawali Interactive performances.
The event is being supported by London Luton Airport Limited, Lebara Mobile, The Mall Luton, Central Bedfordshire College, Original Lahore, Radio Lab, Mysisterhood, BBC Three Counties Radio, Hot Asia Jamz, B4U, Luton Town Football Club, Creams Café Luton, Punjab2000, Dallow Learning Community Centre, Majestic Sounds plus many more.
