Asian Network Schedule Changes From April
BBC Asian Network makes a key change to its daytime weekday schedule from April in moves designed to support the new breakfast show with Adil Ray and to beef up the digital station’s news and discussion output.
The Adil Ray show moves to 7am -10am before handing over to Nikki Bedi, whose programme brings the latest from across the worlds of entertainment and the arts from 10am—12.30pm.
A new early breakfast show from 5am will include an hour of Devotional Sounds (5-6am) featuring faith inspired music for Muslims, Hindus, Sikhs and Christians.
The first of two Wrap news programmes will now start at 12.30pm and Nihal will host the daily phone-in at the heart of the daytime schedule, where listeners give their take on the news story of the day, from 1pm-3pm.
Andy Parfitt, Controller Asian Network said: “This is the second stage of the strategic development for Asian Network. All stations need to keep evolving and these changes will work well with our new breakfast show”.
The new Asian Network schedule will start from Monday April 20 2009.
