Rising music star Priti Menon has dedicated her latest single Khabida to Grammy and Academy award winning musician A. R. Rahman

A.R. Rahman Inspires Hit Song

Khabida is Priti’s follow up to super smash hit duet with Arjun, Teri Meri (Remix), which achieved more than 1.2 million hits on YouTube in only six months and is a song she says is inspired by the iconic musician.

Priti has returned to her classical roots with Khabida, which translates as ‘dreamy eyes’ and teamed up with lyricist Raqueeb Alam who has worked with Rahman in the past.

“I dedicate this song to AR Rahman who has been an inspiration behind this heartfelt composition. With Khabida, I have done something different to the popular genres prevalent in the British Asian Music industry and offered music lovers a sound they haven't heard in a while. I'm positive that the soul I have put into the vocals will connect with the souls of listeners of all ages and hope it has the song has the same timeless quality of Rahman’s compositions," said Priti.

Already generating a lot of interest with music critics, DJs and fans, Khabida has been produced by top musician Charles Bosco and is readily available on iTunes. Priti is hoping Rahman will appreciate the song and wants to work with him one day.

A. R. Rahman is the ultimate hero of Indian music and it would be a dream come true to work with him in the future. I hope he likes the new single Khabida because it’s for him,” said Priti.

Priti started singing professionally at the age of 15 and has delivered songs in various languages that include Hindi, English, Bengali , Gujarati, Tamil, Punjabi and Malayalam. Often referred to as the singing nightingale, the superb singer has been compared to A-list Bollywood vocalists Lata Mangeshkar and Shreya Ghoshal by leading critics. Big named artists like Talvin Singh and Niraj Chag, who have created their own niche in the music industry have acknowledged Priti’s singing talent and expressed an interest in collaborating with her.

A perfect blend of the classical and commercial Khabida is taken from Priti Menon’s hotly anticipated debut album.
