Bollywood megastar Akshay Kumar along with co-star Nimrat Kaur paid a visit this week to the office of India’s national airline – Air India, which played a crucial role in evacuating a record-breaking number of Indian citizens stranded in Kuwait during the 1990 Gulf War, a feat which saw India’s national carrier included in the Guinness Book of World Records for enabling the most people evacuated by a civilian airliner. The company had helped in evacuating 170,000 Indian civilians through 488 commercial flights over a period of 59 days.

Actor Akshay Kumar with co-star Nimrat Kaur and the director of the film Raja Krishna Menon visited the Air India office in New Delhi and shared with officials the story and essence of their movie, which is releasing on Friday 22nd January 2016.

The “Airlift” stars have previously expressed their gratitude towards Air India for their heroic and brave efforts in helping to save the lives of over 170,000 Indians, evacuating them from war torn Kuwait in 1990.
